Online Return Policy

General Guidelines for your Return or Exchange:

If you are not satisfied from your purchase, our return process is rapid and reliable, with Guest Service Representatives available to help you through the proves. In order to proceed with return process, use our online form. A Guest Service Representative will efficiently respond you with instruction ensuring that your return is handled properly. You can return the product within 90 days of purchase. The return shipping will be deducted from the refund, unless the cause of return is due to defective product or error from the company. Also note that an additional 25% of restocking fee will be charged for online purchases. The returned product must be unused and in original packing with all its accessories and paperwork to make sure you are credited correctly.

Return/Exchange Policy on Custom Products: Window Treatments, Doors, Steel Door Glass, Vinyl Windows & Barstools

Custom-made orders such as windows, barstools, doors, vinyl windows and steel door glass are to your specifications therefore these orders cannot be cancelled once in production nor will be accepted for return or exchanges. The only case an exchange or return is possible when the received item was arrived in damage condition or has clerical error. In such case please contact us within 3 days.


If you wish to exchange an item you have purchased for a different item, use the online exchange form to proceed. You can apply for exchange within (90) days of purchase. The item must be in unused condition in its original package with all accessories and paperwork ensuring your account is credited. Our Guest Service Representative will help you through your new order. On your credit card statement, you will see two entries: One for the return which will be credited to you upon successful inspection of returned merchandise. And one for the new item purchase that will be charged from you.

Damaged Products:

If a damaged item is received then please contact our Guest Service Representative using the online form within (3) days. The representative will guide you with returning and receiving a replacement.

Gift Cards:

Gift Cards which are purchased online at® are nonrefundable.

Store Return Policy

 General Guidelines for your Return or Exchange:

  • Any purchase which does not have the original Universal Product Code (UPC) will only be available for an even exchange or identical product.
  • Rebate purchase merchandise must have original rebate receipt while returning. Without the rebate receipt, rebate value will be deducted from the refund.
  • Sale price adjustment are valid during the sale item when the item was purchased 14 days prior to the sale. Credit to Menards® Card or in-store credit will be issued. Anyhow, sale price adjustments are not allowed on end of season discounts, closeout items, or special promotions.
  • 25% restocking fee may be charged on stock merchandise that is cut or altered.

Returns with a receipt within 90 days of purchase:

  • Purchase made with cash or a debit card: a cash refund will be issued.
  • Purchase made with a check: Refund will be issued in the form of an in-store credit if receipt is less than 14 days old. A cash refund will be issued if the check is more than 14 days old and you have no outstanding checks with us.
  • Purchase made with a credit card: a credit will be issued to the account.
  • Purchase made with an in-store credit or gift card: an in-store credit will be issued.

Returns with a receipt after 90 days of purchase:

In-Store credit or credit to your Menards® Card will be credited for the original purchase cost over returns with a receipt after 90 days of purchase.

Returns without a receipt:

If your receipt is missing, you may have a chance to print a Return Receipt if a check or credit card was used for the original purchase using Return Receipt Kiosk which is available at any Menards® store by Guest Service Desk.

In-store credit will be issued if in order – the lowest price offered will be given including discounts due to coupons or rebates. We have the right to REFUSE a refund which do not have receipt. Holiday and Summer Seasonal Merchandise returns will not be allowed without a receipt. *A driver’s license or state I.D. will be required. NO ID = NO RETURN

Returns of Special Orders:

Special order items may be refunded at Menards® sole discretion with a 25% restocking fee.

Return of Gift Cards

Gift Cards are nonrefundable.

Exceptions concerning your return or exchange:

Return Policy is different by product type. These exceptions are denoted on the front of the register receipt in the following manner:

  • (TD) 30 day over the counter exchange purchase may be returned / exchanged with a receipt within 30 days of purchase. Without receipt, no returns, refunds, exchanges, or credits, will be issued. Unless covered under warranty, after 30 days, merchandise may be sent out for repair at the Guests expense.
  • (GP) Gas Powered items may be returned / exchanged within 30 days of purchase with a receipt. The item must not be used, is in its original packaging, and no gas was put into the item. If items do not meet these conditions, the guest must repair it by taking it to to an authorized service center. If not under warranty, repair is at guest’s expense. Returns, refunds, or exchanges must have a receipt.
  • (HI) Holiday items may be exchanged for the same item or a similar item of equal cost. If the customer does not want an exchange, the item will be refunded at the receipt price if returned within 14 days of purchase date; after 14 days, clearance price will be given if on clearance at time of return. Returns will only be accepted after the date of the holiday if product is unused and in original package.
  • (SI) Seasonal items may be exchanged for the same item or a similar item of equal cost. If an exchange is not wanted, the item will be credited at the receipt price if returned within 14 days of purchase; after 14 days, clearance price will be given if on clearance at time of return.
  • (NR) Non-Refundable items, if opened or damaged, are only allowed for an even exchange on the similar item. Delivery and/or installation services are not refundable.
  • (PG) Plant Guarantee: Menards® give on year guarantee to all perennials, trees, and shrubs from date of purchase. A refund will be issued by simply returning the item with your receipt on the purchase price.
  • (MA) Major appliances may be returned or exchanged within 7 days of the purchase date if the item has a manufacturing defect, or within 30 days of the purchase date, if the item has not been used and in original package. If items do not meet these condition. The vendor shall be contacted for warranty issues/concerns or claims. Returns, refunds, or exchanges must have a receipt.” – Menards web site.
